Sun & Co.

Through Sun & Co., I work with early stage, high-potential companies and help entrepreneurs reach their full potential.  My background suits me particularly well for clean tech and energy:

Early-Stage Companies—supported 30 early stage companies in one or more roles: angel investor, consultant, interim executive, founder, institutional private equity investor, Advisory Board member or board member of the Board of Directors.

Complex Private and Project Finance--As an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and UBS, I arranged or advised on over 100 private financings, valued at over $11 billion. Over 60% were energy or cleantech-related.  Many were “first of a kind”, “largest”, or “fastest”, earning me a reputation for unusual levels of creativity, intelligence, analytical rigor and tenacity.

Active in the 1970-80s Energy Boom-to-Bust: provides me with a cautionary perspective on this boom and the specific risk of green energy investing.

Sustainable Investments:

TerraCycle: upcycles consumer waste stream into new products.  Named by Inc. magazine as the “Coolest Little Startup in America”, and its CEO as “Top Entrepreneur under 30”.  It was on the Inc.500 in 2009 and 2010.  I led a B round investor group and was a Board member from 2007 to 2009.

LPP:  enables biofuels to burn cleanly in turbines.  I led an investor group.
